Walk for Education

New Reflections will host its 1st Annual Walk for Education, September 8th 2012 at the Freedom Fountain in Kansas City, MO, to support education.  Key focus is particularly in KC to support the children of the Kansas City Missouri School District as the district struggles to regain accreditation.

In illustrating the need, New Reflection cites that in America a student drops out of school every 26 seconds.  The rate of high school graduation for minority males continues to lag below 50%.  In 2010 alone, an estimated 20,000 students dropped out of Missouri schools. The number of students unsuccessfully completing high school continues to have a profound impact on our local and statewide economy.   The organization also states a that another challenge is that funding is often funneled away from early childhood programs when research shows that is the most significant time for learning.

New Reflections invites the Kansas City community to come get fit individually or as part of a team or become a sponsor and send a message to our children, legislature, schools, community, and country.  We Care About the Education of OUR Children!
